Scope and Contents
From the Series: The collection is arranged into two sub-series. The first sub-series "Correspondence," is arranged by name in alphabetical order. The second sub-series, "Miscellaneous" is also arranged in alphabetical order. The sub-series contains some of Father Mullany's scholarly notes, as well as a scrapbook, newspaper clippings, legal documents (including a will and testament), and personal effects (including his driver's license). Father Mullany became friendly with a number of the Christian Brothers, through his own brother Azarias. Also represented in the sub-series "Correspondence" are his relationships with some of the Catholic hierarchy. John I. Mullany, is his lawyer cousin from Dubuque, Iowa. The Riddles are the cousins responsible for the scrapbook. Minnie Dwyer and John P. Fox are cousins too. As previously mentioned, the McCluskey family were dear friends of the Mullany family. Horatio Seymour was a neighbor of the Mullany from early in their American lives. He later became a New York governor.
