Born in New York City, NY, on July 6, 1925, son of the late John and Claire (Rennert) Linhardt, he was baptized John William Linhardt. He was the brother of the late Robert Linhardt. He leaves a sister, Marie Quinn of San Jose, CA, a nephew, RObert Linhardy of Albany, NY and several nieces and newphews.
He entered the Brothers of the Christian Schools at Barrytown, NY in 1944 and received the habit in September of that year. He pronounced his final vows in 1950 in Barrytown, NY.
Brother JOhn received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Science Education from Manhattan College in 1950, a Masters degree in Biology from Fordham University in 1953, a Masters degree in Counseling from Manhattan College in 1959, and a Doctoral in Counseling from New York University in 1968.
Brother John began his teaching career at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, NY 1968. In 1974, Brother was assigned to Manhattan Career Development Center. Other assignments were at La Salle Military Academy, St. Bernard High School, Lincoln Hall High School, and St. Cecilia School.
