From the notice sent to the community by Br. McKenery: "Brother Gregory was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 21, 1924. He entered the Institute in Barrytown, new York in 1939, received the robe there on September 7, 1942, and pronounced his first vows on September 8, 1943. He received a B.A. degree in English/Science from Manhattan Collge, New York, an M.A. degree in Philosophy from Fordham University, New York, an M.S. degree in Biology at St. Mary's College Winona, MN, and an M. Ed. degree in Administration from Brooklyn College, New York.
