Biographical / Historical

From the eulogy delivered by Br. Thomas Jenkins at Br. James's funeral: "Brother James brought this sense of loyalty to all the schools and all concerning those schools. He had a great sense of loyalty to his family. He loved it here at Bishop Loughlin and maintained a great feeling of friendship for the boys. Then he was called upon by our Superiors to go to Lincoln Hall - devoted to aiding juvenile delinquents - again giving his loyalty and firendship to those boys. Following some years, he was assigned to Christian Brothers' Academy in Albany. Again, the love of the school and the boys there: great friendship. Later, the SUperiors asked him to go to our high school in Manchester, New Hampshire. Here he had much to do with doing a great deal for the tennis team and his love for the school and all things with it. Remember, he had the gift ot maintain his love for his previous assignments and the boys in those schools. His great work with the Christian Brothers' Boys Association again was based on his great loyalty to all Brothers' Boys both in the New York and Rhode Island areas. His idea of a very fine person was for him to be a Brothers' Boy. He showed loyalty to the Church by his great interest in fostering vocations to the Brothers and the Priesthood."
