Biographical / Historical

The Provincial headquarters for the Midwestern Christian Brothers was located in Glencoe, MO until 1966. Chicago, during these years, was the geographical center of a far-flung Province which at one time extended from Minneapolis, MN in the north to Memphis, TN in the south and reached westward to Amarillo, TX and east to Cincinnati, OH.

During the 1960s, this widespread area was subdivided into three more manageable territories. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Province was created to include the northernmost schools. The St. Louis Province was to govern the southern/eastern/western schools. The Chicago Province included the city's metropolitan area together with four Michigan schools and one in Indiana. In 1995, all of these Provinces came together once again to form the newly created Midwest Province.
