Biographical / Historical
Vaugirard Retreat House was founded in 1954 inspired by Brother Ildephonsus Damian. It was a retreat house until 1970, became Vaugirard-Darrow Hall in 1970. Brother Pius Kamphefner and Peter Schmidt founded Operation Breakout in 1971. Operation Breakout stopped its association with the Christian Brothers in 1978.
