In the late spring of 1938, Bishop Robert E. Lucey announced he had secured the services of the Christian Brothers of the Saint Louis District to conduct Price Memorial College of Amarillon, Texas. To improve the school's enrollment which totaled 58, 9 of whom were seniors, Brother Landrick Jerome, Provincial, sent Brothers Luke Pascal and Julian Austin to Amarillo July 2, 1938 to recuit. Upon arrival of these Brothers a new Ford car, Tudor style, was turned over to them by the Bishop for their recruiting work.
