Inscribed by Ed Mullaney to Brother Joseph Grabenstein. In the inscription, Ed refers to the Illumination Project at Bishop Walsh High School in Cumberland and Brother Joe's assistance regarding providing historical information. "Brother Irene" is a reference to Brother Joe's mother (Mrs. Herman Grabenstein, Jr.—Irene, A.F.S.C.) who became one of the honorees in the Illumination Project

Biographical / Historical

Dr. Leo Ley, Jr., A.F.S.C., is given a full page (page 86). Dr. Ley graduated from La Salle HS in 1933 and later in time donated free or low-cost medical services to the athletes of Ridgeley (WV) High School. Photos of the gymnasium--named for Dr. Ley—are in this book. Photocopies of the pages regarding Dr. Ley and the gym are in the "AFSC" files (Schema #346).
