Biographical / Historical

The frontispiece is an engraving by Joffroy of a portrait made of De La Salle in his coffin. This is the frontispiece of the original edition of both volumes of De La Salle's meditations. Cover image: Church of Saint Remigius where De La Salle often spent nights in prayer when he was beginning the work of the Christian Schools.
